So, er, I had to do a Guy/Marian picspam from tonight's episode, considering it is the actual most beautiful thing in my life. Sorry, history paper. You lose.
The captions for this might be pretty questionable, because I'm not sure whether I can form a coherent thought about this episode. It was beautiful. It was far more beautiful than I ever would have dared to dream Guy/Marian might ever be allowed to be. I guess that's what I get for thinking nothing could ever top their scene in 2x03. Which this did so much.
Gah, he loves her. And by this point, no power in the damn universe can make me believe Marian doesn't care about him at least a little bit.
Aw, man, I remember back after season one ended and I wasn't even sure whether we'd get to see them interact anymore. Thank you, show. Even if Robin/Marian is inevitable, at least we get all of these incredible brain-breaking scenes along the way.

Good way to get me excited about an episode? Start it with Guy and Marian bickering like married people.

I love how they go from having one of their trademark omg-so-tense-and-uncomfortable-and-also-very-very-hot moments one second to flirting adorably the next, instead of Guy storming out to ominous music and Marian looking profoundly awkward. Oh, show, how you've grown!
Also, cutest exchange ever--
"Am I so easily won?"
"You must be the least easily won woman in England."

"Thank you, Marian."

"I was ungrateful earlier. I'm sorry."

"I was overbearing."
The fact that they are actually apologizing to each other and making up completely kills me. Also, once I'm done with this, I'm going to go build shrines to this screencap. WHY ARE YOU SO ADORABLE, YOU TWO.

Hee! I must say, it was lovely to see the return of Guy's 'Oh my God, stop checking out my ladylove!' face that factored so largely into 2x02.

THE MOST AMAZING SCENE FROM ANYTHING EVER. And no, I do not exaggerate.

I wish they could gaze intensely at each other in every episode. Possibly the whole time.

Something about him packing the trunk and her taking all of the stuff out completely melted my heart. (And reminded me of that one scene in The Mummy, which I think just makes it all the more wonderful, because Rick/Evy? Totally at the top of my list of very favourite movie couples. And Lucy Griffiths reminds me of Rachel Weisz like crazy already.)

"Humanity is weakness."

"You don't believe that."
(I'm surprised I'm even still alive, honestly. This scene is, no lie, my absolute dream come true.)

Sigh.

Sigh.

Siiiiiiiigh. (Sweetest thing ever. I kid you not. Ever. He kissed her on the cheek.)

Stupid corrupty Sheriff. And God, Armitage is so damn amazing.

And, ya know, Lucy's not too shabby either.

And then he kills the evil pervy vengeance-seeking old guy and saves her!!

And they live happily ever after! Well, er, this week, at least. And damned if I am not going to cling to that until the end of time.
And from next week--

Yeah, I can tell from that split-second that I'm not going to be able to survive that scene without having an emotional breakdown.
Oh, Guy/Marian!!!! <3 This was unimaginably beautiful and I still have the sneaking suspicion I might have been hallucinating it all.
Are there other people on this show?
Well, Will. Will gets to be acknowledged by me, because he is awesome. And their costumes were kind of amazing. But honestly, the most substantial thought I had about Robin throughout (besides "Ahaha, I wish he always had to wear that hat!") was "Oh, man, if Robin really did die, Guy and Marian could totally get together!! And think of the angst!!!" And so the fact that he survived left me a little irrationally disappointed, considering the show is named after him and everything.
I'm so doomed.

Date: 2007-11-12 01:33 am (UTC)I am still completely in awe of all the exploration Guy/Marian is getting this season. I never would have expected it in a million years.
And Armitage needs a million zillion shrines built in his name. It's just that simple!

Date: 2007-11-11 07:17 am (UTC)And...I will never understand how Richard Armitage is no more famous than he is. He really, really needs to be in some big awesome movie so that everyone can fall in love with him and realise how great he is. If there is any justice in the universe that will happen for him.
...oh, Guy/Marian. How you own my soul.

Date: 2007-11-11 07:21 am (UTC)So maybe I am missing something, but what is up with Marian's hair and wardrobe? I am not understanding this (granted, I tolerated Xena and the total shite thereof for several years, so I cannot pick on this one), BUT COME ON.
That dress sort of looks like someone's Sunday best and NOT ROBIN HOODY. (Hoody. It's a word. Totally a word. xD)

Date: 2007-11-12 01:35 am (UTC)In conclusion . . . roll with it. :D I think that might be the actual #1 rule of watching this show.

Date: 2007-11-11 07:49 am (UTC)words do not do this couple justice, do they? let alone your seriously cool picspaming. (came from over guyxmarian, btw, just so you know.) I shall have to moon over them until I see the episode, then, I think that I too shall be clinging to it until forever. As for Robin, I'll do the deed, nasty little git, he doesn't deserve Marian and he makes her a horrid decieving little so-and-so.
I know, of course, they're going to give Marian to smarmy Robin, because it's "legend", yeah well, they can't even get their most basic history right and Marian wasn't in the legends until very late in their evolution, so big raspberries Tiger Aspect&BBC, they know where they can put their legend. They'll probably end the series with some big sickening Robin/Marian get-together and I'll chuck, and a little while later Marian will realise what a ghoul she's married to and that he realy only wanted her because she was meant to be "his" a part of his perfect little life, and all he really cares about is winning and his oh-so-wonderful king richard, and will come to her senses and get on the beautiful horse Guy gave her and go find the man who really loves her. 'cause he does, soooooo love her, poor boy.
Sorry, I'm ranting in your journal, I really shouldn't do that.
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for the pretty, pretty piccies

THE MOST AMAZING SCENE FROM ANYTHING EVER. And no, I do not exaggerate.
IAWTC!!!!!!!!!!!!
Considering I was a die hard Robin/Marian shipper up until, oooh 2x03, it is SHOCKING how freaking obsessed I am with Guy/Marian. This episode was the best freaking ever. Someone on my flist was pointing out last week how strange it is that the writers are treating Guy/Marian as the true couple on the show... considering the legend is of Robin and Marian and those two are the ones actually 'officially' together on the show right now. But really, we've been seeing MUCH more of Guy/Marian, and I don't think Robin/Marian have kissed since 2x02. I HAVE HOOOOOOOOOPE! I mean, really, Robin/Marian is the outcome of this show, but I see no reason why Guy/Marian can't happen in the meantime =D =D.
Thanks for the picspam!

Agreed on the scene. Him kissing her on the cheek was so -- adorable and strangely innocent especially when it comes to Guy. And them apologizing! And their married-couple!bickering.
... I'm starting to resent Robin/Marian for being so damn canon. Especially when the writers keep getting 'shippy with the Guy/Marian.
am currently cursing my lack of a proper Guy/Marian iconOh, and, loved this so much, if you didn't pick up on that in this comment.

Ack! Why can't they hurry up and screen this in Australia?
Date: 2007-11-11 10:34 am (UTC)That has to be the ultimate proof that Guy/Marian pwns any other ship in this show. We have another recruit from the dark side! Or should that be light, soppy and canon side? Even the caps without any dialogue shows the character breadth of this ship, and in just one episode.
"Oh, man, if Robin really did die, Guy and Marian could totally get together!! And think of the angst!!!" And so the fact that he survived left me a little irrationally disappointed, considering the show is named after him and everything.
I'm so doomed.
Hahaha! Join the club. My first thought when I read that was that Robin could have a complete and irrational volte face and die defending the Sherriff - no I don't have a reasonable uh, reason! - then Guy would probably have betrayed him in the first place. Then we'd have double the angst, because it would be all Guy's fault. But that's never, ever going to happen, not even in fanfic.
Re: Ack! Why can't they hurry up and screen this in Australia?
Date: 2007-11-12 02:09 am (UTC)FOR REAL. It's amazing to see how much they're catching on this season. Back last season, I felt sort of minorly ashamed for shipping them in the first place, but now that their chemistry is being allowed free reign in season two, it seems like nobody has the power to resist them! Which is entirely a-okay by me. :D
And oh, man, I wish they could kill Robin off. If only the show weren't named after him.

Date: 2007-11-11 10:55 am (UTC)This episode was so incredible ... I'm still all melty from that wonderful, wonderful scene where he tells her to run. Could it get any better than this? I wish ... but no matter what I shall cling to this episode with all my fangirl might! I feel like there just isn't enough Guy/Marian shippyness in the world to make my heart happy ... so, thank you for this beautiful picspam! It tides me over for the time being. (:
Oh, Guy/Marian ... what you do to my soul.

Date: 2007-11-12 02:17 am (UTC)Hee, I know that feeling entirely. On one hand, this episode left me feeling like all of my Guy/Marian dreams have completely come true, and on the other hand, I'm like, '. . . but look at them, they're so beautiful that they should be allowed to be together!! Let's forget about this Robin/Marian nonsense once and for all!' Darn double-edged sword.
In any case, it is truly the most lovely I'll-cling-to-it-forever! episode that we could have possibly gotten. :D

Date: 2007-11-11 01:50 pm (UTC)I adore Will he gets more than aknowledged by me since he's oh so very clever and sexy! Plus I'm dying for some Will/Djaq.
God I am loving Gisbourne soooooooooo much!!!!! He's so adorable those eyes could bore a hole right through you wih a glance. I was silently begging for a real kiss I achully stopped breathing for a second. lol. I think his deliious sexiness is damaging my vision of Robin I'm beginning to dislike him.
They had that all lovely "We are Robin Hood!" thing but still whenever he's there it's do wot he says without an explanation. Granted not all the time but quite a bit of it. However, when he's not there it's like a democray, Djaq didnt want to read he letter but sine she was outnumbered she did. If Robin was the only one who could read he would've refused (i mea a sitution where it wasn't his etc.) and I get he's the leader, but all this helps me to ignore the inevibility of Robin/Marian and achually believe in the possibility of Marian/Guy.
They were adorable last night, loving the "STOP EYEING MY WOMAN!" face.

Date: 2007-11-11 02:36 pm (UTC)Like, just. WOW. This was pretty much the best episode ever -- even better than Child Hood. Although I still recognize 2.03 as being responsible for the Official Best Scene Ever, 2.06 is just one best scene after another, bam! Bam! BAM!!! Before I have even recovered from the previous one, it's like IN YOUR FACE! MORE GUY/MARIAN! OR GUY/ALLAN! OR JUST GUY BEING HOT IN GENERAL!!! I feel a little shell shocked, I must admit. I'm just having a hard time believing that... wow... Did we just have half a dozen awesome Guy/Marian scenes? In the same episode?
Also. The preview picture from next week. AKSDFOU;SDFJASDF. I AM DEAD ALREADY.

Date: 2007-11-12 02:31 am (UTC)Hee! That is completely delightful. Clearly, awesome is your specialty. :D Actually, I think I like your method better. I tend to start off my Saturdays being all motivated and determined to do homework and I'll eventually get to watch the episode after I'm done with all of that, but then it somehow inevitably turns into me agonizing over the episode not being posted yet. It is utterly impractical. But a necessary part of the process!! And ultimately so very worth it.
And this episode was just insane with the Guy/Marian scenes!! It was overwhelming! How were we supposed to handle all that beauty at once?! bam! Bam! BAM!!! indeed! :D
NEXT WEEK SHALL KILL US ALL.

Date: 2007-11-11 02:47 pm (UTC)WHY isn't this show called Guy of Gisbourne (And Marian)??? Seriously. Robin Hood, go...climb up a tree or something.
I was looking for screencaps of that last, fleeting scene from the preview!!! I think I'm going to faint.
The Guy-rescuing-Marian-and-being-completely-awesome (mostly, except for that part where the Sheriff makes him give Marian up)-scene is LOVE. *sqeeeeeee!!*

Date: 2007-11-11 10:47 pm (UTC)I'm really afraid now that Guy will have to die at the end of the show, because he can't live happily with Marian, and he probably can't live happily without her--unless they push him back into just being a stooge for the Sheriff. Oh dear. I guess I'll have to cheer myself up again by scrolling up ; )

Date: 2007-11-12 02:41 am (UTC)Personally, I like the idea of King Richard finally coming back and Guy and the Sheriff being arrested, of course, but then Marian realizes that she can't bear the idea of Guy being hanged for his crimes, so she busts him out of the dungeon and he escapes to some faraway land. But, er, not until they've had one incredibly pretty parting kiss.
. . . Not that I've given this any thought whatsoever. Or that I am a remotely sappy individual. Oh goodness, no. Cough.

Date: 2007-11-12 07:07 pm (UTC)Like you, I was worried at the end of last season, and after the first episode of THIS season, that we'd never get any interaction between the two of them other than angry, bitter sniping. I have never been so happy to be wrong in my whole fannish life.
Guy/Marian has also taken over my brain, and I too was a confirmed Robin/Marian shipper for most of the show up until, oh, about the time she saved Guy's life in 2x03.
Oh. My. Gosh. Just one more reason to love that scene so hard it hurts. Rick/Evy forever.
Seriously, when Guy burst in there and it became apparent that he was going to DEFY THE SHERIFF and help her escape... I just about died. It was like... "Who let the Guy/Marian shippers write this scene?" Then, later, it was, "Who let the Guy/Marian shippers write this WHOLE EPISODE? And can they keep doing it?"
