The thing that bothered me most about the last episode--and there were a lot of things that bothered me, no matter how much I loved the Doctor/River stuff which was PERFECT--was how very okay with it all Amy and Rory seem? Like, they aren't really that worried? And then they find that they don't really get to raise their daughter, but they're okay with it? And it's just...not emotionally satisfying to me at all.
But this. This is emotionally satisfying and perfect, and you just have all the voices so right. Everybody is just perfect here, and Amy just shatters my heart and the awkwardness with River and Rory is so lovely with his stupid face and I love this madly. Madly.
So many lovely lines, but this was actually my favorite:
He was excellent when he was flustered, like this weird combination between someone’s doddering granddad and a baby giraffe who’s just figuring out how to walk. It just made you want to fluster him more, in Amy’s estimation. Fluster him as much as humanly (timelordly?) possible.
BECAUSE YES. (And another way of like mother like daughter.)
