how they know each other so well and yet don't know each other at all
That's such a neat observation, & what's really been intriguing me about them lately. I was never quite that interested in the pairing just because I never felt like they shared a lot of very dynamic screentime, but watching again with Merlin/Morgana goggles on, I just love how, physically, they even look so similar, like opposing versions of each other. On a show that so loves to bust out the "two sides of the same coin" message, I think the relationship between/importance of their two characters is really resonant. Not to mention that I also love the whole man-with-magic versus woman-with-magic thing, and how Merlin is lauded (if ... secretly, but he's still the hero!) whereas the woman is pretty much victimized and villainized, and I would so love to ramble about that for like twenty pages one day because I think it's so interesting. But today -- is not that day. Anyway! Thank you again, buddy. :D
