This was wonderful. So beautifully in character, and so real. Nothing will ever convince me that this little moment didn't happen.
He’s an adequate dancer, which she finds disappointing. Had he stepped all over her toes, at least she’d have derived some material for later complaint out of the experience. As it is, it’s nothing besides tiresome
I don't know what it is about these three sentences that make them so, but it's like you actually managed to tap into DeWitt's mind here. It's her voice expressing them to me, via the helpful medium of a computer screen, but then that's true of every sentence in this.
As for the actual dancing, well you've just created yet another happy place for me to escape to. And it's a glorious one, She’s had just enough champagne that she doesn’t quite check the impulse to enjoy the familiar smell of him, the comfortable newness of being this close.. DAMMIT SHIP AND YOUR LACK OF PERSONAL SPACE AT THE BEST OF TIMES.
