I even wrote some analysis about this episode here whereby the doll "Roger" she creates was a wish fulfillment created by her nagging need/desire/want for Dominic. And that's part of why Roger was so 'screw work! screw the rules' - the exact opposite of the stuffy relationship between Adelle/Dominic where the rules had to be followed at all costs.
I loooove that interpretation, and I think that there was definitely a lot of that going on under the surface of this episode. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it; that was one completely emotionally exhausting and ingenious forty-five minutes of television. OH JOSS.
I like to think that this is just the (messed up, glorious) beginning for DeWitt/Dominic.
