I love this. Remus/Tonks as it's presented in the book has never sat well with me, but this makes so much more sense, and the line you used as your summary and the way it fits in -- oh. I love the progression of this, the way it moves from the end to the beginning, and the way you keep a certain continuity between all the pieces. This is really, really, really lovely.
