I think you do a wonderful job with their voices, and with that shaky morning-after feeling of sorting through how words exchanged the night before feel in the light of day. And I absolutely love that after we see Caroline steel herself for being able to focus on Gillian and apologize, Gillian saves the moment with a simple and lovely compliment.
I really enjoy stories that start with a new day without giving us every single detail on the previous one; there are hints ("bare skin") and it's all just enough to paint a really precise picture of where Caroline's thoughts are. I absolutely love it. Thank you so much for writing this!
