Original fiction, what up! (That is to say: I play with fairytales. And also apocalypses.)

Hello, oh wonderful friends list! ♥ Y'all have been so mind-blowingly, staggeringly, 'but how did I ever get this lucky, seriously now?' awesome re: reading my fanfic over the years, and for that there can never be enough thank you. Never! I have newly wandered on over into the vast, scary, and most intriguing world of eBooks, so I figured I would spread the word over here. Sometimes I write things almost entirely of my own invention! (But let's be real here, fanfiction shall always be the finest of literary art forms. I'm pretty much not even joking. VIVA LA FANFIC.)

Fairish & The One-Eyed Goatherd - Beauty(of ‘and the Beast’-type fame)’s okay-looking older sister Fairish gets her own potential fairytale. It doesn’t go too well. Featuring a heroine who really likes to say ‘screw you,’ a hero who knows how to rock an eyepatch, adventure, danger, random dragons, and all the goats you could possibly dream of. And then some. Seriously. There are just too many goats. (Find it here!)

The Beautiful Thing: Fairytales Retold - A prince is caught between the doldrums of duty and the joys of (a most improper) love. A young woman sets no stock in all that dying-for-love nonsense, and woe betide the anguished knight who tries to brood at her. And a little girl observes more of life, love, and regret than anyone would have thought to expect from a clever and vengeful witch. Three old stories given new shapes. (Find it here!)

When Flirting Met Zombies / Lifeless In Limbo - The apocalypse gets its romcom on! - Benjamin and Sarah meet cute while battling a legion of world-decimating zombies. Whether they'll survive long enough to make it to an actual first date is another question. Okay, okay, they totally don't. And? Turns out it's crazy-awkward to live happily-ever-afterlife with someone you just met. Thank God there's couples' counseling in the great beyond ... Unfortunately, there are also corndogs. (Find it here!)

Well, Iknow what I'm doing with my paycheck tomorrow. :)

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You are such a sweetheart!!!!!! ♥

[identity profile] dreamstrifer.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously, the story about Fairish is hysterical and I love it.

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
<3! I felt like it was time to dust that one off, it has just been sitting around all neglected for like five years. (FIVE YEARS? Dear God, time, what are you doing!)

[identity profile] dreamstrifer.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I know exactly what you mean! I'm twenty-five for heaven's sake, and I finished writing my first novel when I was 19. It like, blows my mind that it was six years ago.

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Right?? What is also distressing to discover is just how little I've actually gotten finished. So many doomed WIPs! So, so many!

[identity profile] jellytea.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
THESE BOTH SOUND SO AMAZING, I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. My favoritest of favorite thing is fairytales re-told in quirky, screwy new ways and these sound like just the thing!

Wheeee~

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yaaaaaaaay, thank you! :D Messing with fairytales is truly one of my favorite things EVER.

[identity profile] hondagirll.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm buying Fairish for my Kindle as soon as I get home from work today. I have a policy with e-books that if it's under $5 I can buy it and since BOTH your books are under $5 I'm going to have to buy both. Dude, now you are a published author (seriously. I count e-books!). <333 you!

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Awwwwww! THIS WARMS MY HEART SO MUCH THAT I AM GOING TO HAVE TO USE MY KINGRENTS ICON. YOU HAVE REALLY LEFT ME NO CHOICE WHATSOEVER.

[identity profile] magpieinthesky.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
AHHHH THIS RULES. As a huge sucker for fairytales and interesting variations on them, I will definitely buy this after work today!!!

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
OH YAY! ♥ I hope you enjoy, m'dear, thank you so much!!!

[identity profile] magpieinthesky.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Purchased! OH THIS IS SO COOL. Did you get to check out the formatting on all the different file types before publishing? Do they do it for you? I'm really curious about this process! I actually have been editing Mark Oshiro's ebooks (yes, Mark of "Mark Reads Harry Potter") for the past several months, and it's been very interesting learning more about the editing and self-publishing process. :D

Go you for getting out there and publishing those ebooks!! ♥

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
It is fascinating stuff, this business of eBooks! Basically, with this one you just have to upload a correctly formatted .doc of your book, and then it has an e-book generator ... thingie that formats it into a bunch of different kinds! It's super handy!

THIS IS SO EXCITING, BABE. ♥

can you buy these even if you have no ebook-related invention? D:

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! They come in lots of formats, so you can also download them in, like, an RTF or a PDF to just read on your computer. Which definitely isn't neeeeeearly as cool as an actual book, but it IS possible!

[identity profile] soharavsalienta.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
You totally can! I don't have a cool ebook thingy, so I just read on the computer screen. Works like a charm.

[identity profile] zombie_boogie.livejournal.com 2012-03-05 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay! I am now a proud owner of three Books by Hannah (don't think I didn't notice that there was a romzomcom in there!!!)

Ah, can't wait to read them! Once I've finished I'll come back and tell you what I think. :)

is what I say to that!

[identity profile] noteasilywon.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
This is so exciting, and very, very worth it! Two great favorites and one new one, what fun! I just finished reading the Princess and the Pea story, and aaaagh, so beautiful! My heart is thoroughly warmed. I absolutely can't wait to read the rest.

Bask in the glory of being a published author! You very much deserve it, my friend!

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-06 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
OH MY DARLIN', thank youuuuu! ♥ So, so happy to heart-warm!

I am so stoked about this, and I sincerely hope you sell a billion copies. Your talent should not be under a bushel basket.

Also, this Marie character influences you to do great things (kitchen-murder potential be damned). Keep her around.

[identity profile] dollsome.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, thank you, anonymous kind commenter who I suspect I somehow know in a non-internet capacity! (Who would be the most likely to say 'bushel basket' ...?) Marie is the bomb, there is absolutely no arguing that one. Absolutely no arguing!

Sorry, hope I don't disappoint by revealing myself, but I'm just your garden variety stalker. I just went to your blogger blog (that sounds weird) and read up about this Marie person, just because I'll pretty much read anything you write.
