Since she is one of my very favourite characters in the history of earth -- like, seriously, the only one who safely and unchangingly ranks above her at present is Hermione Granger -- I felt the need to do a Marian picspam! Because not only is she brilliant and amazing and completely awesome in every single way there is to be awesome: she is also really, really pretty.

So I present to you -- Marian throughout season two! Featuring a whole lot of Guy, because -- wouldn't you know -- nearly all of my Marian caps seem to be from her scenes with Guy! (Lord knows why on earth that might be.) But that Robin dude (what's his deal again?) even makes an appearance or two! Shockingly.

And this is where we're going to stop. Because while she continued to be very gorgeous in 2x12 and 2x13, well, those episodes just bum me out. And I don't need none of that. So let's call it quits at a happy place!

Gaaaahh. She's just so wonderful. I really can't think of a single character - at least not in a series - I love more.

I'm at a point where I've just completely rejected the finale. Like, everyone in s3 may think what we saw was what happened, but IT DIDN'T. On the third day, she rose from the dead. Or something.

And, hee, I love how everyone seems to have gone through this journey, finale-wise, of being in complete devastated enraged denial, and then analyzing it excessively and declaring themselves to have accepted it, and now it seems we've all reached the point where we're like, 'Nope. Didn't happen' and written it off completely. Which, well, it was crappy, damn it! And therefore this is as it should be. And I think that's my final answer.

True story: first day of class in my advanced expository writing class, and we have to write an essay about either a) a politician or b) a fictional character who has made an impression on us. So... judging from my general life priorities... I skip straight over the current events and head for the fictional characters. And I totally wrote about Marian. And I blabbed on for so long that I was very very much the last person to leave class, by about five or ten minutes. SHE IS SO AMAZING AND THE WHOLE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW IT!!! I hope my professor is influenced by it; hopefully we'll get our papers back tomorrow, so I'll see how it goes.

But anyway, goodness! Could she be more gorgeous? I almost feel like this picspam is too much for one post to handle. And, tehehe, top right (http://pics.livejournal.com/dollsome/pic/000ezkg5) is my favourite caught-at-a-bad-moment screencap. Oh, yes, Marian -- you were totally digging it until Robin showed up! Also, the comments on a YouTube video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=oo7VrWUw724) of this scene are like my favourite things ever. One person watches it out of context and gets the wrong (but totally right) impression: "I don't get it!! I haven't seen season 2 yet, but is it Guy and Marian now or what?" And then this one just makes me LOL: "I know she was only kissing Guy to distract him but did you notice that she only stopped him when she saw Robin? How that boy cramps her style! Can't tell me she doesn't fancy Guy like mad. Just cos she wants to marry Robin doesn't mean she can't feel the attraction to Sir Guy!" Random YouTube Reviewer, you are SO TOTALLY RIGHT!

HEEEE! That is awesome that you wrote about Marian! Just watch -- slowly, we will all use our powers to convert the world! Even though I guess that would just ultimately end in heartbreak for everybody. Maybe it'd be worth it?

And, ahahaha, oh, those YouTube comments are fantastic! HOW RIGHT YOU ARE, random YouTube commenters! How right you are.

And I get that that top right screencap is not precisely as it looks, but it's so brain-meltingly exquisite that there's no way I'm not going to completely take advantage of that at every turn! Hell no. Too pretty.

SO PRETTY! gah, she's just so gorgeous and amazing - I love her expressions (I don't think I've ever seen a cap of the one with her staring at Robin - who is thankfully obscured by his quiver - before, but honestly, that is an amazing face. Also, pretty. Did I mention the pretty?). And the lighting in this show just loves her, and I am now in woes of not having a Marian icon anymore. Even in the scenes with That Robin Guy, she's amazing - that's actually how I could watch those scenes without grimacing, because she's so pretty when she's all glowingly happy and in love. heh.

Relatedly, though, I feel compelled to ask: is it just me or does that R/M kiss look far more awkward and uncomfortable than otp!kissing has any right to?

Oh, I totally get that feeling! Watching Robin/Marian scenes got to be like emotional whiplash for me or something -- the shot would be of Marian, all glowing and beautiful and giddy, and I'd be all, 'EEE! LOVE! LOVE!', and then it'd cut to Robin, and I'd immediately get all irritated and grumbly. It was very exhausting.

And oh man, don't even get me started on the Robin/Marian kissing. :D Or maybe . . . DO get me started (http://dollsome.livejournal.com/860084.html#cutid1).

So true-it was like he was kissing his sister! So much more chemistry between RA and LG than JA and LG. Just watch through 2-11. There is a lot of good fic out there with alternative endings. I just read those.

Thanks so much for that! God, I'm still so hesitant to watch the rest of the series. I fell so hard for G/M in the first couple of eps and through fic and I just don't know if I can watch the total destruction of them.

I didn't know you liked G/M too. Although the last two eps of season two are depressing G/M wise, don't hesitate to watch the rest of season two because there are way too many wonderful G/M moments to miss it.

Oh! Absolutely watch through 2x11 and then just stop there. 2x10 and 2x11 are miraculous in terms of Guy/Marian.

:D Aw, that little moment was really cute. And that's saying something for me, considering after like episode five of the first season, I sort of ... hate Robin/Marian with a fiery passion? (Seriously. Me + shipping right = doom. I just fail at it, always!)

Mwahaha, come to the dark side! Or, ya know, don't. Or maybe it doesn't matter, since it's equally painful to be on either side. THANKS, S2 FINALE. But, yeah, at least Guy and Marian got some tiny nice moments peppered throughout the series! I will always, always be giddy about their last scene in 2x11. I never would have dared to hope for such cuteness!

I like both pairings, but I'll always be a R/M shipper first and foremost. Sorry. =] But yes, G/M got some ADORABLE scenes.
