I haven't seen the TV version (I want to someday! I just found out they have it at our public library, so maybe I even will), and I tend not to pay attention to anything while looking at Matthew Goode besides "adkjfladjdalja MARRY ME," but it really, really struck me in that second-to-last cap that he is just looking seriously Irons-esque.

The first promo shot I saw, the only thing that convinced me it wasn't Mr. Irons was the presence of a brunet Sebastian.

I've been through the VERY LONG TV version ... with my stepmum. Who asked the amusing question at the end of the first part, "Are these two men gay?"

Lots of pretty, not much Emma Thompson! She plays a supporting role, but she's not in it a whole bunch -- I think she's so big on the posters just because she's the most famous person in it. Anyway, it's definitely worth a watch!

Maurice is brilliant; it makes me feel so happy and triumphant. I've only read the novel version of Brideshead Revisited (though I just rented the TV miniseries from my local public library), but I had the same reaction - I got about halfway through the second half of the novel and was like, "Dammit. Charles and Sebastian are tragically never going to be together, and so now I need to go and reread/rewatch Maurice to make me feel happier."

By the way, LOVE the icon. :)

This is the most darling charming gorgeousness I have seen. Oh, so, I had a dream last night where you owned a hang glider, so we went hang gliding in Alaska, which inexplicably had California weather, but I was still cold because I'd forgotten my shoes. Yeah, I don't know either.
