As I'm very quickly discovering, school is way down the list of important things when Guy/Marian is in question. (I was almost late for class today cuz I was rewatching Get Carter! and the wonderful, wonderful, wonderful kiss, lol.)
This was great! My favorite part was:
When he had approached her in the corridor, his face lined with torment, there had even been an odd relief in it. If he had not failed her, she would have had to endure knowing once and for all what she means to him.
I love that she is relieved by his failing her, because otherwise she would have to acknowledge that she is betraying a man who is in love with her. And I love that she has to remember that his is a bad guy, tells herself that he's not worth saving.
