Oh, man, this is so great. Your Jan is fascinating and perfect, and I LOVE your careful attention to canon -- Jan's pantsuit, her curly hair, that she talked to Toby first.
Super terrific lines that I had to read aloud to my roommate:
It occurs to her all at once that maybe he’ll cry. The notion is so horrible and so likely that she refuses to let herself entertain it.
There’s something ridiculous about spending nearly a half hour with the curling iron every morning, but Michael had told her once, in a display of characteristic tactlessness, that he liked it better straight. It’s become steadily curlier ever since.
Michael’s told her all about Ryan and Kelly’s relationship, despite her repeated assurances that it’s not business-related and therefore she's not interested. Usually, Michael imitates Kelly’s voice when he does this.
Heeee. And your Toby, all shuffling and knowing! And I love how you walk the fine line of Jan's characterization, professional and exasperated and trying not to care.
