IT'S KRAFTY TIMES PARTY TIME

(ft. adorable fanart by [livejournal.com profile] chibirhm! ♥)

Hello, world! I am still stupidly excited over sharing my bb Know Not Why with the world at last, and like anyone who cut her writin' teeth (... okay, that's creepy) on the sweet sweet elixir of wonderful comments on her fanfiction (and FanFiction.Net reviews, if you wanna get OLD SCHOOL), I am dying to hear what people think. I am also sort of worryingly inclined toward having big spazzy fangirly feelings over a tale that is technically of my own creation, but - oh well!

SO! If you guys have any questions at all, or just want to tell me what you thought, or what actors you picture as the characters (I would love to know this! I have never managed a complete dream-casting of this thing), or are perhaps dying to know my Howie Jenkins playlist, or, like, some fascinating trivia (oh, there's trivia!), absolutely bring it, friends!

This might just turn into me spamming this post with silliness, but I am okay with that.

COOL LINKS, BRO
+ Currently for sale @ Smashwords! I am looking into putting it in Amazon's Kindle Store as well; would that be good, do you think?
+ If you feel like puttin' your reviewer hat on, it would be the coolest if you left me a rating or review at Goodreads or Smashwords!
+ My sporadically updated blog is currently featuring a post on what moved me to write this in the first place. :)

OH SHE IS SUCH A GOOD PICK! I have only seen a bit of TVD, but I always thought she had tons of charisma.

Also: oh gosh, buddy, do not stress over casting other peoples' stories! The reason it is so interesting to me, I think, is that of course the characters are going to be a bit different to everyone who reads it, since we've all got unique brains and ... stuff! So everything's valid!

Except maybe, like, Nicolas Cage as Arthur.

No, actually, that would be THE MOST VALID CHOICE OF ALL~~~

Well we all know that if Arthur is deathly afraid of bees, then Nic Cage is the man for the part!

Oh man, here is a question for you--what shows do these kids watch? We know about Arthur's television choices, but does anyone but Kristy ever try to make him watch actual pop culture shows? WHAT DOES ARTHUR THINK OF, SAY, MERLIN? (Every time I see my default icon [this one], I wonder about this!)

BEST QUESTION EVER, AND ONE I HAVE (OF COURSE) THOUGHT ABOUT A LOT.

+

CLIFF WATCHES MERLIN. This is totally canon from the abandoned sequel that I think I might just scrap and start over, but that line has always delighted me and that fact will always be true.

I also decided a few years ago that at some point Howie and Arthur marathon Battlestar Galactica together. It may or may not turn out like that one skit from Portlandia.

NOW LET'S JUST BREAK THIS DOWN BY CHARACTER. Just off the top of my head ...

Howie:
All the NBC Thursday shows (Community and 30 Rock are his favorites); The Colbert Report & Jon Stewart; Lost, diligently, back when it was on; Buffy and Doctor Who with Amber; Freaks & Geeks; Six Feet Under; Game of Thrones; Happy Endings (he feels quite a kinship with Max, but is also convinced that Arthur is Jane, which is tricky); Boy Meets World, nostalgically, because he & Amber used to watch it religiously when they were kids

Arthur:
ANTIQUES ROADSHOW! And Nature and NOVA and all those PBS shows. He watched Downton Abbey with Kristy, and found the second season rather disappointing. Game of Thrones with Howie, and also kinda whatever Howie's watching. Has a secret, sentimental love for Parks & Rec where he watches it on Hulu devotedly on Friday mornings if he misses it when it airs. Tom is his unlikely favorite because Tom's ability to ramble on ridiculously and with great swagger for an endless amount of time reminds Arthur fondly of somebody.

Amber:
The whole Whedon oeuvre; Doctor Who; Merlin; Legend of the Seeker; Robin Hood until they KILLED MARIAN; Game of Thrones; anything involving awesome ladies or Britishness, pretty much. Amber's taste in TV is pretty much my taste in TV.

Kristy:
Glee; Gilmore Girls; Parks & Recreation; Modern Family; American Idol; The Voice; pretty much anything on ABC Family (lots of Greek love); New Girl; The Vampire Diaries; Lark Rise to Candleford with Cora; Downton Abbeyyyy! And, inevitably, a bunch of Disney & Nickelodeon shows targeted at young teens.

Cora:
She, like Mitch, is of the opinion that Xena is pretty much the most magnificent thing TV has ever done; Spartacus (where Lucy Lawless leads, she follows); Legend of the Seeker; Lost Girl; Gilmore Girls; Downton Abbey (she spends most of the time just yelling at the TV because everyone needs to stop being bitches, but in a joyful way); Doctor Who & Torchwood; LARK RISE!

And Cliff loves Merlin.
