I may have teared up, just a little bit, at the scene where Howie is helping the newly divorced woman find knitting supplies. And then again at the end. And and will there be a sequel?? Where Arthur becomes a concert pianist genius and perhaps the gang all moves to New York or another fabulous-concert-pianist place OR SOMETHING, because no sequel can be lacking Kristy and Cora, it just can't, OK??
AND AND telll meee, do Mitch and Amber get together? Will Howie's mom ever fully realise the awesomeness that is Emily? WILL ARTHUR GET TO KEEP THE OTTOMAN?
Seriously, you should be sososososo proud of your bad self. This book is AMAZING. It's hilarious and bantery and it has amazing, vibrant, completely loveable characters, and it invoked SO MANY FEELINGS. I wish I had a paper version so I could underline things and draw hearts in the margins.
Also, I love that Kristy loves cleaning the lint screen of the dryer, because PLEASE, that is the best part of doing laundry, for sure. And just... all the completely awesome character touches like that. You are a comedic, novel-writing genius and please please please can there be deleted scenes or author-written fanfic or a sequel or something, pleeeeease.
Umm favourite scenes... the Christmas morning walk! Arthur and Emily singing around the piano at Christmas eve! THE WHOLE SANTA, MRS CLAUSE, ELF, REINDEER scene. And the paaain that was getting stuck in a lift! And umm DRUNK!HOWIE. And every literature discussion. And SINGING MOULIN ROUGE. And the complete emotional destruction followed by shippy glee that was the not!date with Douchy Patrick.
OK, Imma back away from my shift key now, but EEEE. THANK YOU. I was having suuuch a low week, and spending my evenings reading this just made everything a kazillion times better. It made me laugh and squee and ship and fall in love with these characters and just... yay! AMAZING.
