The Shiny Happy Comment Ficathon STRIKES BACK
I doubt this will catch on like its predecessor, but I figured, 'Hey! You know what I'm in the mood for? Some shiny happy fanfiction.' And nothing says a shiny happy fanfic party like ...

1. Make your prompts cheery in nature!
2. Prompt format should go thus:
Fandom -- Pairing or characters -- prompt
3. For the fic you've written, please put the following in your comment's subject line: 'Fandom -- pairing -- title.'
4. Be nice!
5. Spread the fun, if you are so inclined!

Doctor Who - Eleven, River, OCs - regarding earthly children
"Charming," she huffed, shaking the camera in exasperation. "How is it I had no problem mastering ancient Gordian war technology but I can't get this thing to stop filming in sepia?"
"You're a very militant woman," he suggested, and she swore in Sumerian and headed upstairs, probably to post angry comments on a Panasonic forum or reinvent 21st century recording technology altogether. "We can just bring them a hologram recorder next time we visit."
"Dad said no more future tech," said Angus, the eldest of Ponds, anxiously. "He had a hard time explaining to the neighbours why our lawn mower talks and prunes the hedges."
"Pfft, they're just jealous" opined Aurelia. She was the middle Pond, pudgy and ginger and rude - the Doctor's favourite, though he tried to hide it, because of paedagogy. "Tell us a story, Doctor! Tell us all the stories." She led him to the burgundy couch and settled in his lap. Her brothers sat on either side and the Doctor propped his legs up on the coffee table. Amy had really excellent furniture.
"Okay! I'll tell you about the time your mother saved me from the fleets of New Galapagos using just a set of dominoes." Aurelia made a noise of displeasure and Angus frowned. Amadeus was sucking on his thumb and seemed content but was clearly in minority. "What?"
"We just -" Aurelia looked at her elder brother, who nodded, "we were thinking a real story. A made-up one. You always tell us about the things Mum and Dad did when they were with you. That's cool and all, but we want something different. About pirates. And witches!"
"And doomed love," said Angus, who was already seven, "plights of redemptions."
"Doggies," Amadeus suggested.
They were looking at him expectantly, so he said, a bit haltingly: "Once upon a time, there was a boy who lived in a cupboard - " He cut off, because Aurelia elbowed him in the stomach, rudely and not at all gingerly. "That's just Harry Potter," she said. "Dad read that to us ages ago. We want something you made up."
"Like Auntie River's stories," Angus said, flushing a bit, because he had been a harbouring a crush on her since last May. "Remember the one with the man-eating shadows?"
Aurelia nodded. "And the stickman and the firewoman. I couldn't sleep for weeks after."
Apparently, insomnia was the hallmark of good literature, the Doctor thought grouchily, then shrugged. "Here's one I don't think you heard." The kids leaned in and he adopted his story-telling voice and sank back into the couch. "Once upon a time, there was a girl called Susan who lived in a scrapyard with her grandfather, who was a little bit odd but knew things about the world nobody else did."
He didn't notice when River came back and settled in to listen in the armchair opposite. He saw her taking notes (lucky thing her journal was bigger on the inside). It was a good idea, because, really, it never hurt to prepare for future babysitting duties.

Angus will indeed grow up into a Buffy stan. He will vaguely project River onto Whedon's heroines and probably over-identify with Andrew. Eventually he will hook up with Adelaide Brooke's great-granddaughter and become some kind of prince.
