As I figure it, Dakota Stanley's in with the community theater and bullies his way into executive control of one show in the summer, which Vocal Adrenaline always overruns because duh, talent + nepotism. Giselle texts Santana about it because VA and the Cheerios have a symbiotic work schedule/mutual appreciation/same gym membership, and they're elliptical buddies, and is subsequently furious when most of New Directions shows up to audition. Moreso when Santana gets to be Cordelia. (With Brittany as her Harmony, obviously.)
