This is perfect. I could honestly feel the water, the joy of water in the last paragraph. (Next-to-last? "toward the light", anyway, which, yesss.) I love that she was Finnick's hero even before the Games, I love her unreasonable amplified guilt. I love that she recoils from water (like Johanna!) but also yearns for it. I love that her life in Victor's Village is basically a summary of the life of Victors - you got what you wanted and now you can't stand it. I love the ray of hope that is Finnick (but also the fact she may have been his ray of hope before this). I lovelovelove the idea that fishermen's kids aren't allowed to know to swim but Annie does it anyway.
