Why do you always write fics that break my heart?? Oh god, this was lovely and totally in character and so, so sad, I cannot even take it. From the very first line, to Morgana dreaming of Uther, and then Gwen, and her disagreement with Morgause about what Arthur will, or could become.

Too quick a thing to cherish, you would think. But Morgana tucks the memory away, adoring it clumsily, hungrily. It's been so long since she had anything like it. Once they all used to smile at her like that. It was so common she barely even noticed.

This was utterly, utterly true, and so much sadder because of the truth of it. Jeez. Wonderful.
