Title: finer things (or lack thereof)
Pairing: Pam/Toby
Rating: G
Word Count: 3,352
Summary: The Finer Things Club does Sense & Sensibility.
Author's Note: So, wow, I am just out of practice at this! Could not think of a title! Could not think of a summary! The fic itself is stilted and weird and awkward! However, I justify this by the fact that Toby, around Pam? Kind of stilted and weird and awkward. (Oh, Toby.)

Also, it has been a really, really long time since I did Office fic. So, er, all my sins are forgiven? RIGHT.

I don't know much. All I know is that I love Toby. And Pam/Toby. And Oscar. And the flippin' Finer Things Club.

Maybe that's all we really need to know.

(Sidenote: It's weird to write Pam so happy. I'm used to being in season three fanfic-wise!)

Austen's sort of inevitable. )

Title: leavin' on your mind
Character(s): Karen, featuring appearances by Kelly, Jim, Andy, and Pam
Spoilers: through "The Job"
Word Count: 3,249
Rating: PG
Summary: This is how Karen's last week in Scranton goes--
Author's Note: I really don't know why I keep writing these season four speculation fics now that the premiere is nearly upon us, considering they're all going to be de-canonized in less than a week (!!!) anyway. But unfortunately, I cannot seem to stop my ill-timed inspiration. And damn it, I love me some Filippelli.

Kudos to anyone who makes it through the first section. It was an accident. I contemplated paragraphs, but I just felt like it would lessen the effect somehow. And who wants that?

Title: ever afters
Pairing(s): Ryan/Kelly, Michael/Jan, Dwight/Angela, Jim/Pam
Spoilers: through "The Job"
Word Count: 1,014
Rating: PG
Summary: Endings, angry dogs, beet fields, and beginnings. In that order. (The romantic aftermath of The Job.)
Author's Note: This started as just the Ryan/Kelly section, and then I couldn't resist fleshing it out a little. Because it's Sunday, and I have a history paper I need to be writing, and avoiding productivity? It's sort of my thing.

This is how the breakup goes-- )
dollsome: (office; ryan + kelly)
Title: homecoming and other horror stories
Character/Pairing: Ryan, with some hints at Ryan/Kelly and . . . Ryan/Michael?
Spoilers: through "The Job," as well as very slight ones for this promo
Word Count: 1,540
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Ryan’s return to the Scranton branch doesn’t go exactly as planned, which he probably should’ve seen coming.
Author's Note: Oh, the season three Office DVDs fully reignited my love of Ryan. And torturing him.

And, just in case anyone gets curious (as well you should be), the fine Flight of the Conchords musical masterpieces referenced within are as follows: Bret, You've Got It Goin' On; Robots (although, tragically, the part I referenced actually isn't in the video! But . . . watch anyway); Business Time. And I'm not saying I wrote this whole story for the sole purpose of converting anyone who might chance to read it to Flight of the Conchords, or anything, but, well . . . if I did succeed in doing so, it would be the finest of my glories. Because they are Just. That. Great.

But, er, moving on--

'Y’know, Jan used to have your job,' Michael reflects, eyeing him happily from across the desk. )

Title: solidarity (for the lovelorn)
Character(s)/Pairing: Karen, Toby, Jim/Pam
Spoilers: through "The Job"
Word Count: 761
Rating: G
Summary: Her first thought is that she’s gotta be in really depressing shape if Toby’s feeling bad for her.
Author's Note: This is me, trying to get back into the Office-writing swing of things. And oh, man, writing this made me all wistful. Oh, Jim/Karen and Toby/Pam. I loved you dearly.

An office picnic seems kind of unnecessary, considering Beach Day was, what, a little over a month ago? )

Title: Friday Night's Alright (For Dating)
Pairing(s): Kelly/Andy, Jim/Pam
Spoilers: through "The Job"
Word Count: 3,752
Rating: PG
Summary: Kelly sets Andy up on a blind date with a friend. Things don't quite go according to plan. Also, there's lots of instant messaging.
Author's Note: Ahhh, it was nice to delve back into the world of Kandy. It's been awhile, y'all! I figured I had to finish off the summer with at least one more.

All of the IM'ing going on in this one was inspired by the lovely and charming Expressions in Emoticons by [livejournal.com profile] ladama23.

Also, everyone should go see Stardust, because it is truly the new greatest movie in my life. I kid you not.

Title: Chivalry and the Citrus-Flavored Beverage (Or, Andy Bernard's Quest for Wall-Punching Redemption)
Pairing: Kelly/Andy
Spoilers: through "The Job"
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,942
Summary: Ryan returns, to the great distress of everyone. Andy tries to ease the suffering.
Author's Note: KANDY. Yeah, that's all.

And, um, just in case anyone's curious, Andy's cat Montgomery is named after Elizabeth Montgomery, his secret ultimate dream woman. Bewitched is his favourite show in the history of ever. I don't know why. I just decided. It's all in the subtext. Or something.

The second that Big Turkey, Dunder Mifflin Scranton Betrayer slash Totally Despised Asshole Jerk, takes off after his first meeting with Michael, drama erupts. Big, big drama. )

Title: My Wonderwall
Pairing: JAM, but of course!
Spoilers: All the way to "The Job" (sidenote? squeeeeee!!!)
Word Count: 2,000
Summary: Five reasons JAM is meant to be! :)
Author's Note: . . . yeah. I don't . . . know where this came from, exactly. But that doesn't matter. What matters, y'all, is the power of JAM.

1. Roy's a jerk, and he doesn't get Pam at all. Not like Jim . . . )
dollsome: (OFFICE » pam)
Title: your own kind of music
Pairing: Primarily ensemble, with some Jim/Pam in there
Spoilers: minor ones up to "Safety Training"
Word Count: 3,387
Rating: PG
Summary: Andy beatboxes, Kelly enlists Oscar in the support of a different Ryan, Angela is appropriately scandalized, Michael decides that votes are like paper, and Pam over-identifies with Jim's sensitive guy music. This . . . is what happens when your author watches too much American Idol.
Author's Note: So, um, I have this really shameful problem where I have gotten totally into American Idol (it was never going to get me! I went five years without being remotely interested! And oh, I suppose I was doomed to fall into its clutches sooner or later) and thus really uninspired about . . . you know, awesome fictional stuff. But [livejournal.com profile] yourmomroxxs suggested that I do a fic blending The Office and American Idol, and I figured, hey. Our Dunder Mifflin Scrantonites are American. Maybe they suffer just as I do. Or something.

These don't all necessarily take place on the same day, because that would mean that they're as obsessed as I am, and that would just be sad.

Random notes!

Haley's by far my favourite contestant this year, I don't think it's anything approaching a big deal that she wore shorts (gasp! shock!), and I love the girl to death. But I had to forsake my personal preference in the face of the fact that Angela quite simply would not feel the same way.

Um, certain sentiments that Kelly voices repeatedly throughout this absolutely in no way reflect, say, my personal views, and quite simply . . . felt organic for her character, is all. Er, never mind the lj layout. I have no idea how that got there.

Also, this is, obviously, set before this past week's traumatic Idol happenings. Tear. Godspeed, Mr. Malakar. Godspeed.

Also also, I believe this is my first time writing Andy. Eep.

Also also ALSO (this is the author's note that ate your life), shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] fireworkfiasco's amaaaazing 5 Reasons Why Being Gay Is Totally Awesome, which went there first with the Kelly/Oscar friendship and Kelly's way true Rymon suspicions. It will enrich your life so much!!

Title: the brave soul
Character/Pairings: Pam; Jim/Pam, Pam/Toby, Pam/Roy
Rating: PG
Word Count: 3,551
Spoilers: "Business School"
Summary: There are certain paintings she leaves out. She doesn't like looking at them; they feel like accidents more than anything else.
Author's Note: This last episode reminded me exactly why and how much I love a certain Miss Pamela Beesly -- I'm in awe of how realistically and poignantly her character is being handled this season. After all of the Jim trauma, it's more than understandable that her Fancy New Beesly demeanor would regress, but with that comment from Gil (who had LINES!!), which, painful as it was, she needed to hear, I think we might just see the show bringing Fancy New Beesly back. Which pleases me so much that I'm apparently moved to make really lame Justin Timberlake references.

Um. Fic now. Riiiiiight.

And moreover, to succeed, the artist must possess the courageous soul. )

Title: well then i like seeing you at bedtime
Pairings: Jim/Karen, Ryan/Kelly, Michael/Jan, Dwight/Angela, Pam/Toby
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 3,675
Spoilers: Set in the not-too-distant future after "Back from Vacation"
Summary: Pillow talk, or something like it.
Author's Note: So, this is pretty much just me basking in how much I love all of these ships, heh. (And certain other fandoms, like, say, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter. Thankfully, I'm subtle about it.) Title is a line stolen from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, because clearly my two television show loves must meet someday. (And TOTALLY WILL; yay for Joss directing in the spring!)

Also, my not-entirely-unfounded suspicion that Karen is a Buffy fan is taken from the fact that her Call of Duty name was 'KarentheJimSlayer' in The Coup. So . . . there?

Title: Office Strange Love (Or, How Dwight Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Angela)
Pairing/Characters: Dwight/Angela, with some Jim, Pam, and Creed for good measure. And also Mose.
Rating: PG
Word Count: 3,543
Spoilers: Spans from pre-series to "Performance Review"
Summary: The Jedi must not know love. Volunteer sheriff's deputies should be no different. Dwight fights his tumultuous attraction to a certain head accountant.
Author's Note: I am relatively sure I will never feel fully sane again after writing this. What a way to kick off 2007.

Dwight hates Angela. )

Rating: G
Word Count: 1,744
Spoilers: Set pre-series
Summary: It takes three days for Jim to decide that the new receptionist is pretty much the greatest girl ever.
Author's Note: Whoa. I'm actually . . . writing about Jim and Pam. Surely, the world has gone flat!!

But seriously. Even if I do sort of get annoyed at them sometimes, and get tempted by the exquisite lures of Pam/Toby and Jim/Karen and Pam/Karen and Pam/Roy, I do love them deep down.

He knows she's cool right away . . . )

Title: in spite of me
Pairing: Ryan/Kelly
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 5,524
Spoilers: Up through Branch Closing, with some subtle references to A Benihana Christmas
Summary: In which Ryan slowly falls for Kelly. In his own bleak, Ryan-y way.
Author's Note: Man, why do my fics insist upon being so epic lately?? I mean to do a little thousand word vignette but oh, no! That would be too easy! Anyway, I did have fun with this one -- I enjoy Ryan and Kelly's relationship way too much, and I just can't resist playing around with the idea that Ryan really does like her, deep deep down. So, yep, this is pretty much a series of random moments in their relationship, spanning from shortly after they got together up to Branch Closing. Enjoy. :D

I dunno. Can't explain it. )

Title: since feeling is first
Pairings: Jim/Pam, Karen/Pam, Pam/Toby, Roy/Pam
Spoilers: Up through "A Benihana Christmas"
Word Count: 6,292
Summary: In which Pam lets go, crawls back, finds something she wasn't looking for, and finally gets her happily ever after. Sort of.
Author's Note: I really don't know where this came from. Originally, it was going to be a 5 Things fic inspired by the fact that Pam has all of these truly phenomenal ships, all of which I am enamoured with (seriously! Jam! Pam and Roy! Pam and Toby!! Pam and Karen -- who knew? -- I want them all!!), and then every section except the first one turned epic, so I scrapped the first one (because, really, it was just an attempt to get five, and I'm not sure Pam/Andy ever deserves to see the light of day). Anyway, all of these stories sort of tied into each other, and turned into one big Pam-kinda-finding-herself-through-all-these-people deal. Or something. Honestly, I'm a little dazed on account of having sat here for the past seven or so hours and couldn't tell you what it was about at the moment, beyond, well, Pam. Also, there's some kissing. Enjoy?

And it's not like Jim forgets. )
dollsome: (OFFICE » ryan & michael)
Title: Brokeback (Dunder) Mifflin?
Characters/Pairings: Ensemble, with Ryan/Kelly, Dwight/Angela, Michael/Jan, Pam missing Jim, and Michael/Ryan. Sort of.
Spoilers: Set after 3x05 - "Initiation"
Word Count: 5,723
Summary: It's Halloween at the office, and, drawing his costume inspiration from a certain Ledger-and-Gyllenhaal flick, Michael wishes he knew how to quit Ryan. Everyone else just wishes they knew how to quit. Featuring Dwight's Lost obsession, increasingly pissed-off!Jan, and a paper mâché head!
Author's Note: Oh, man, this was fun. These characters bring me far more joy and entertainment than can possibly be healthy.
